Please come join my wife and I in Hanapepe at the Friday Night Festival & Art Walk or on Saturday mornings in Hanalei at the Hale Halawai Market. Both are must-sees and one of a kind among Kauai’s many amazing artist and farmer’s markets and feature food vendors, live music and lots of artists and artisans.
I have always been inspired by representational painting and the evolution of descriptive techniques from one artist to another through history. Ten years surrounded by New York City’s modernist roots and contemporary scene fueled a love of non objective, or abstract art making and conceptual thought alike. With the goal of celebrating all these influences together, I make art rooted in representation and enlivened by abstract, painterly techniques, balancing whimsical exploration, honest description and active, expressive gesture.
I have loved drawing and painting since childhood, got my Bachelors in Fine Art from The University of Georgia and completed a secondary education as an Art Students League merit scholar in New York City. I regularly exhibit as a Member of the The Salmagundi Club in New York where I lived for ten years working in the arts doing framing, restoration, art hanging and art handling for galleries, museums and private clients. In 2019 my wife and I moved to Kauai where we sell my work at art fairs and markets all over Kauai. I am available for commissioned portrait, landscape, still life, abstract and mural projects.
