THIS ARTWORK

This watercolor was painted from the lookout beside Kuhio Highway in Princeville. The curving Hanalei River sweeps gently around and between taro fields receding into the sunny floodplain between steep volcanic mountains. Bright puffy clouds drift overhead and each lays its colorful shadow across the earth like a veil.

THE ORIGINAL

A 9 x 12 in. watercolor hand painted “en plein air” on Arches 100% cotton, 140lb. rough watercolor paper using Winsor & Newton’s artist grade colors.
